1. Breathe

When you find yourself in a moment of negativity, or a funk you can't seem to pull yourself out of, just breathe. I'm sure you're like "yeah, yeah, yeah, k thanks Tips." But there is very little effort needed, and all you have to think about is counting your breaths. It's a really good way to bring yourself back to earth.

Try the 4x4x4x4 Breathing Method.

Inhale while counting to 4.

Hold for 4.

Exhale for 4.

Hold for 4.

Repeat as many times as you feel necessary. Try to clear your mind while doing it, and just focus on your breaths and counting. It may not end all your worldly problems, but will definitely leave you with a clearer mind. I use this if I start to feel anxious, or am faced with someone who is frustrating me. It's an easy way to bring yourself back to earth.

2. Script the Life You Want

Grab a pen and paper and just start writing in your journal as if you are living the life you want right now. Be as descriptive as possible. Write how you're feeling about living your best life. Write how amazing everything is. Write about the kick ass job, house, relationship, you have now.

Whatever your current problems are, flip the script. Tell your journal, the universe, your future self, whoever, just how amazing your life is.

Some Ideas to Write About:

  • The amazing vacation you're currently on

  • Your gorgeous new house

  • Your amazing relationship

  • Your dream body, and how it feels to be healthy and vibrant

  • The kick ass job you just landed

Get creative, write about it as if it's happening right now. Keep it present tense, keep it amazing and perfect, and everything you want. Really live in that moment and feel it as if it's happening to you right now.

3. Make Your Bed

There are studies that show that people who make their beds have increased productivity, lower stress levels, tidier homes, and improved moods. I have definitely noticed a difference in my day when I make my bed.

If you make your bed, you've already completed a task. It doesn't even have to be perfect, but throwing your blanket over your bed, and adjusting the pillows quickly takes less than a minute. You'll definitely thank yourself when you get to climb into a made bed at night as well.

Make the commitment to yourself to try if for a week. You may just become addicted to that productivity boost.
